Mariposa Yosemite Symphony Orchestra
A community treasure: a county of 17,000 people with its own symphony orchestra, led for more than two decades by founder and Music Director Les Marsden.
With a population of only 17,000, Mariposa County has the rare distinction of having its own symphony orchestra. The Mariposa Yosemite Symphony Orchestra has performed everywhere from local stages to Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park.
Les Marsden, Music Director and Founder, has led this community treasure for more than 20 years, proving that world-class musical culture can take root far from the big city.
